The BIG Black Friday Sale

So, I don’t run sales. The only promotion I offer is my once ANNUAL Family Mini Sessions in early fall and those sell out fast. Other than that… nada.

Until now.

I’m a bargain shopper (unless it is something antique, or a prop, or robin’s egg blue, or…) and I love a deal – what woman doesn’t? Since I love a deal so much, I want to offer YOU, my savvy reader, an awesome deal this year. I could keep typing and drag out the suspense… but maybe I’ll just post the ad. Check it out:

Sneak Peek… {baby love} Stella | Mill Creek Baby Photographer

Bee-yoo-ti-ful.

About sums up this lovely lady. Remember Stella? The sweet little honey-bunch is also featured in the opening slideshow of our website. She is the one in the sea of lovely pink fluff.

Today she had part deux of her Baby’s First Year session; the pushing up (4-6 months) stage! About 5 minutes after I showed up, Jay, her daddy, looked up at me, yummy sandwich in hand and says “Hey Brea, wanna sandwich?”. I couldn’t ask for any better greeting! For the record, I did not have a sandwich. I was there to play with the princess!

She didn’t let me down. What a star she is! I am so jealous of her dark, long eyelashes and love the chubbers she has going on everywhere. Enjoy her sneak peek!!

Sneak Peek… {family} Tiegs | Seattle Family Photographer

The Boardwalk.

Was where we met last Sunday morning for a few hours of laughs, smiles and, most importantly, bribes. This little lady amongst the six adults now holds my Smartie consumption record: 2 packages (less 4) earned and eaten! I’m rejoicing!

A year ago I had the pleasure of photographing this little girl, Mya, with her parents. At that time, she had just recently had a feeding tube removed that she had to use after an arduous journey of open heart surgeries and miracles. So, the simple fact that she could even HAVE Smarties is amazing to me. She is back to being a normal little 2 year old girl who requires payment for smiles. :)

The morning was great and was made even more so since Mya’s grandparents, aunt and uncle, and doggy cousins got to play ‘peekshures’ too. Enjoy the sneak peek!

An everyday memory {how to…} | Everett Child Photographer

Capturing “Slept Like a Baby”

I’ve decided I need some new images for our bedroom… I’ve also decided that I want something soft, peaceful, and lovely to look at. What to choose? What to CHOOSE? I need some inspiration! Then I came upon this post from Jinky Art  and…

Lightbulb!

I want pictures of my boys in sweet slumber on the walls of my bedroom. AND, because I’m feeling a little adventurous, and a little tweaked on Starbucks, I’m going to show you how I did it.

The scene: their bedroom. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get what I wanted with Quinny in his crib. So, I placed two white sheets on the ground and a play-yard on top of them creating a slumber pen. I added a few pillows with white pillowcases and a white blanky for snuggles. Thankfully, the boys’ room has two windows and get relatively decent natural light.

The unwilling, and very tired, participant dressed in a white onesie. I almost gave up at this point but I still had a few tricks up my sleeve to accomplish my goal:

 A VERY warm room and a nice bottle o’bribery -I mean… MILK!

After a little baba and some snuggle I gave him about 25 minutes alone and he was OUT. I crept back into the room, adjusted my camera and hopped in the pen. Then I started pulling back the blanket and doing some little adjustments… and then…

I ended up with these:

Perfect.

I’ll be doing the same thing tomorrow with the big boy. Let’s hope his slumber pen session is just as succesful!

Hopefully this inspires you to get out the camera, put in a little work and have a forever memory of an everyday moment  of your child. Or pick up the phone and call me to capture the moment for you. :)

Smarties. | Mukilteo Family Photographer

They are a small childs perfect currency! Small, not messy, multiples per pack and oh so yummy. In case you are unaware; I am not above bribery. If tiny, round nuggets of sugary goodness is what it takes for a bitty little thing to sit still, stop crying, follow directions, smile or otherwise, I will go through a whole pack in 30 minutes. WITH permission of course (unless I can succesfully sneak them!).

For the record, Kate and Josh (featured below) LOVED the Smarties and were practically perfect when offered a chance to earn more. Check them out below!

Drip Drop. | Seattle Family Photographer

20 minutes into our session it started… Rain.

Ugh.

You’d think I wouldn’t be bothered anymore being that I am a native Seattleite. No luck there. When I am IN THE ZONE at a shoot, I soSOso want it to HAPPEN. Letting all that creativity be stifled by something as lackluster as precipitation stinks! Luckily, Aubrey was a gem and we had already wrapped up the majority of the shoot prior to the rain. Check her out!
