Welcome Rory and Brittni to the CYE Photography family! They are expecting a baby boy and we met up last Sunday to document the pregnancy of their first child. And, let me tell you… it was so, SO cold. Like, the three shirts, two jackets, gloves, a scarf and STILL chilly kind of cold. Rory was even doing laps and jumping jacks to stay warm, no joke. Brittni was totally a trooper. At the very end of her session, she was on the fence as to whether to do a bare belly photo due to the low temps. She asked me: “If it was you, would you do it?” I replied: “Honestly? Yep. I’d trade 10 minutes of discomfort to forever remember the belly that way.” She was sold. And it was so, SO worth it. Check it out below!

Sneak Peek… {little prince} Luke Artoush

Sweet Little Prince

Meet baby Luke! He safely arrived to parents John and Candace and I had the pleasure of snuggling him for a few hours on his seventh day of life. We’ve seen his parents before during their completely breathtaking maternity session. This sneak peek is completely dedicated to their baby boy, Luke Artoush.

Baby Luke was a dream newborn. He slept soundly for hours and never, not ONCE, cried. He did, however, have a few… accidents. One that I managed to block (with my hand, people. I’m dedicated.) and the other…? ALL over John’s bare back. Nice one, Luke. Nice.

Fall colors.  |  Edmonds Family Photograper

Miss Kinsley is back! I see her every 4 months or so for her Baby’s First Year package and this time with her entire family. We met up last Friday for a quick little family shoot in the lovely fall foliage. This week, I will be seeing her again for some ‘just for her’ photos to document her first birthday. Time has gone so quickly! We’ve gone from no hair, to Flock of Seagulls hair, to headband hair,  and now to a top knot. Check her out below and she’ll be back soon!

Sneak Peek… {lovebirds} Jennifer & Kevin | Bothell Couple Photographer

Star Trek, 34 degrees, a fly.

For those of you who don’t know, I am NOT a morning person. Especially a ’34 degrees outside, frost on the ground and we’re outta coffee’ morning person. However. Considering the amount of fun I had traipsing around Canyon Park business park with Jen and Kevin, I may be able to be persuaded from my warm, cozy bed to see the morning sunrise more often.

Because these images are amazing.

I want them for myself. BIG. On a canvas. Beautiful images of you and your spouse are not super common unless you make it a priority. So the kids are out of the house? Do it. Maybe the kids are still at home? Get a sitter. You feel fat, you’re getting wrinkles, etc, etc, etc. If you try hard enough, you will find an excuse for anything. These lovely people waited 15 years between photo sessions. Please enjoy their images. I did.. taking them, processing them and now showing them. I hope Jen squeals a little when she sees them. :)

Sneak Peek… {new life} Sullivan

Sweet Sully.  |  Seattle Newborn Photographer

This is Sullivan and his big brother Daniel. Sully and his family welcomed me into their Newcastle home last Friday for a newborn/sibling photoshoot. Sully’s mama, Meg, and I chatted away the three hours I was with them while he slept and allowed me to pose him without even a sniffle. What a good boy he was! Big brother Dan the man also got in on the fun and then got to go out with his grandparents, who were visiting, and get a special treat (Cars 2!). That wonderful Anthro bed spread that baby Sully is posing on? You’ll be seeing that again! We will be photographing Sullivan on the bed for every session in his Baby’s First Year package to show his growth. Love it!

What are you doing Saturday night?

Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive way to spend your evening? I have something just for you! (Keep in mind, y’all, I’m a PHOTOGRAPHER not a VIDEOGRAPHER. My photos are always in focus!  :] And? Don’t I just look SO PURDY???)

My personal invitation to YOU:

Details:

Jeff, my husband, and I are heading back to the island of Roatan, Honduras for a week in March of 2012. We went last year with a group from our church, The Creekside Church, and built a home for a family in need. This year, we will be building two homes, thereby drastically changing their lives.

To get to Roatan, we need to raise $4000 ASAP. That is where YOU and COMEDY come in. One of our fundraisers is a comedy night featuring comedian Jerry Miner THIS SATURDAY NIGHT at Creekside (7011 226th PL SW Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043). All proceeds from this event go to the trip. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. We even have childcare for $5 per kid.

You can buy your tickets here and put JEFF & BREA BURSCH in the field asking which team member invited you and the funds from your ticket go directly to us!

Already have plans on Saturday but still want to help us to get Roatan to build those homes? NO PROBLEM! You can send a check (working on figuring out the Paypal logistics) directly to me and I’ll see that it gets where it needs to go. All cash/check donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Please make checks out to THE CREEKSIDE CHURCH and mail to ME at 12323 Gibson Rd, Everett, WA 98204.

Check out some of the images from our trip last year:

And my thoughts upon returning home:

Thank you, thank you. For considering the comedy night, for giving, for praying, for watching my embarrassing videos and for making it to the end of this blog post. :)

A big announcement.

After weeks of knowing, waiting and rescheduling — the cat is out of the bag! Tom, Sydney and Taylin (whom we saw last year and the year before) will be welcoming a new addition in May of 2012. I was so honored to be able to help them break the news with a few special images from their family session last weekend that debuted on Facebook the evening of their photo shoot… 50 congratulatory comments and likes hit their pages within a few hours — what fun!

Are you pregnant but it is still under wraps and want to break the news in style? Maybe soon to be engaged and want to have the moment when you surprise your soon-to-be fiancee with a ring captured in images? Let me know! I’d love to make your special experience even more amazing!

Now… on to the Ross family’s amazing images!
