Because it goes by so fast…

Time that is. This is a very special sneak peek for Kurt, Carlene and Kole.

Kurt’s parents, Roy and Carolyn, lived across the street from my family and they were the kind of neighbors you dream about; always have a cup of sugar, will get your mail when you are on vacation, will come over and watch your kids in a pinch when your oldest jumps off the bed and hurts his foot and has to go the ER and your mother-in-law isn’t quite to the house yet but you have to leave NOW and need someone for just 15 minutes to watch your other kid and the 4 extras running around the house… OK, maybe that last one is just me.

But, I digress. Did you catch up above when I said that Roy and Carolyn WERE the kind of neighbors you dream about? Yes. They don’t live at the house across the street anymore. Now, they live together in heaven instead. Roy passed away first (from lung cancer) and Carolyn only made it 32 days after he was gone and she joined him (also lung cancer).

So. Two weeks ago I photographed one of their sons and his family. They pulled up in Roy’s black truck. I half expected Kurt to be sporting a red and white striped rugby pullover, a baseball cap, and Adidas sandals. We honored both Roy and Carolyn in Kurt, Carlene and Kole’s photo shoot.

Just as it should be.

A big announcement.

After weeks of knowing, waiting and rescheduling — the cat is out of the bag! Tom, Sydney and Taylin (whom we saw last year and the year before) will be welcoming a new addition in May of 2012. I was so honored to be able to help them break the news with a few special images from their family session last weekend that debuted on Facebook the evening of their photo shoot… 50 congratulatory comments and likes hit their pages within a few hours — what fun!

Are you pregnant but it is still under wraps and want to break the news in style? Maybe soon to be engaged and want to have the moment when you surprise your soon-to-be fiancee with a ring captured in images? Let me know! I’d love to make your special experience even more amazing!

Emma is back!

The first time we saw her was going on 2 years ago when she turned one and had an awesome cake smash. Then, last fall we got together for a quick and sweet family session. This evening, she is back again showing off the spoils from her annual photo appointment/play date. Photographing this family is a real treat for me… Tony, Emma’s daddy, is my 6 months older cousin whom I spent a lot of time with growing up and still have a fondness for. He scored a super fab wife in Lindsey and their little miss is spunky, sweet and fun. Check them out below!

Vivienne is back! And she LIKES me this time!! I’ve photographed Viv and her family 4 (?) times now. Besides newborn and maternity, she has NOT like me. AT ALL. PINK! | Seattle Photographer

PINK! The one color I do not see enough of. In our home, even the DOG is male. Needless to say when Lil, Nora and Mo jumped and/or were pried from the family van, I was ecstatic to see a sea of pink, frilly dresses, hair accessories, baby legs and pony tails. We’ve seen the Gofflets before, during the Grandma’s Attic Limited Edition Event, and they really upped the ante for me during their family session. Enjoy their sweet images!

Meet Jenni and her lovely family. She is the photographer behind Jenni Muehlenbruch Photography in Puyallup and the May recipient of the 2011 Photog Pay it Forward (PIF). Blake and Ainsley are her little sweet peas and they were SO GOOD during our session. They followed directions, were happy, jovial and smiley for our hour together. All in all, the session was one of those that goes down as pretty much perfect. The images don’t lie!

Family of the HeART.

Meet Danielle and her lovely family. She is the photographer behind Danielle Weathers Photography in Maple Valley and the April recipient of the 2011 Photog Pay it Forward (PIF). One of the most refreshing parts of this PIF was Danielle and her husband’s willingness to just LET GO and let the session happen without cajoling, threatening or bribing. Sure, initially the kids were very high energy and running around like little crazies, but after about 10 minutes we had become fast friends (or at the very least I had gained their respect) and the session went perfect! I’m sure you’ll agree. Check out the images!

Sweet, sweet summer haze.

Oh, how I love warm, dusky summer evenings filled with the golden glow of a setting sun and childish laughter. Last weekend, Jaime, of jlv photography, and her family met up with me around 7PM to spend the last minutes of the day together making memories for her family. She was the March recipient of the 2011 Photog Pay it Forward (PIF). Jaime also brought along her brother who was visiting from out of state as the child wrangler, which was wonderful! February in June.

Welcome to February’s installment (yes, I said February) of the 2011 Photog Pay it Forward (PIF). One of my goals for these sessions is to ensure the best possible results and rainy, murky weather just would NOT do! So, February’s session occurred in June. Lynell, of Artistic Images Photography, and her lovely family came down to Mukilteo from Ferndale to spend a little over an hour dodging infrequent raindrops and meltdowns near Paine Field. The girls had a great time running wild and we got some great shots.
