Sneak Peek… {wedding} Ray & Brieanne

Seattle area Wedding PhotographerVision in White.
Well, they did it! You’ve seen them before last September for their engagement/family session and they are BACK! Ray and Brieanne tied the knot last weekend in a chapel housed in an amazing, old brick academy and the chapel is one of the most breathtaking I have been in. The architecture is amazing, the artwork is perfect and the setting is exquisitely intimate, seating about 200 people. Ray and Brie’s nuptials also included a special ceremony with Ray’s daughter Alivia and focused on the family becoming a unit as well as Ray and Brie.

Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing a celebration of some ELL-OH-VEE-EE, love! Besides the normal photography responsibilities, I also had a little extra something on my plate; mentoring a 16 year old aspiring photographer as she got her feet wet in her first wedding as the ‘second shooter’. I won’t lie – it was a lot of work! I had to remember to explain what I was doing as I was doing it while watching the clock and still retaining my creativity!! I spent some of my time sitting back and offering some small assistance where it was needed and took the reigns and mentored by example when the tough spots came along.
The bride of the day is a good friend of mine and she was GORGEOUS! Riley, the groom, has a special place in my son’s heart and was looking quite handsome as well. The highlight of the day for me? Just prior to the BIG moment, after Anh’s make-up had been retouched and the stress of the day was at its peak, her bridesmaids surrounded her, placed hands on her and prayed. Each woman prayed a fervent and heartfelt prayer for Anh and Riley’s ceremony, their future and their future in Christ. Needless to say, Anh’s make-up had to be touched up once again after that special moment.
Enjoy the images!
Sneak Peek… {wedding} Seth & Megan | Snohomish’s Best Wedding Photographer

Love… True Love.
Last Saturday Seth and Megan made it official and are now on their way to the lovely Caribbean sunshine and a big ole’ boat. I have to say, there were parts of this wedding that were beyond tender. The groom made, by hand, the bride’s necklace AND earrings. After the first look, he had to take a few extra seconds to make a trip around her to see every little, gorgeous detail about her. She couldn’t keep from snuggling into him every chance she got.
Congrats, lovebirds!

Port Townsend Wedding PhotographerCongratulations A&L!
After a 4.5 hour drive home from my family vacation, two 2.5 hour ferry waits (really? a 2.5 hour wait at 10PM on a Saturday night??), and a 4.5 hour drive back to my family vacation, Luke and Annamarie said their ‘I do’s’ at The Inn at Port Hadlock on the western peninsula. The weather was perfect, the bride radiant and the groom long-suffering for all of our shots.
At the very end of the evening, Annamarie requested some fun and funky images of her friends. We started with a jump shot of 6 people and ended up with a jump shot that included every. single. person. left at the party. It was a blast! Enjoy the peek!

My assistant, the lovely Dawn, screeched at me over the walky-talkies.
Perfect.I love a bridal party with a sense of humor. Last Saturday I was at was a Tazer Valley Farm (BEAUTIFUL location, highest recommendation) and it was a treat being that the bridal party was up for anything and full of sass. They did just about anything I asked including jumping, a cheerleader pyramid and runway walking.
As for the ceremony, it was full of emotion, tears and one heck of a smoochfest at the end. The reception was full of barbecue, a candy buffet and some heartfelt toasts. All in all, I would have to say that the day was a success (complete with a lovely sunset). The entire experience is nicely rounded out with their lovely photos. Enjoy!

Seattle area Wedding PhotographerBrea… I’m engaged!
Meet Annamarie and Luke. You may recognize them from back in October when CYE Photography was running fall mini session sales. Anyway, they got ENGAGED over the holidays! Congratulations!
We three had such fun last weekend. We spent the early afternoon downtown in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and did some engagement pictures for these lovebirds. Let me tell you, these two were incredible sports! They were more than happy to meet my every wild request despite the incredibly public location and the breezy weather.
This is where I was considering mentioning the fact that Luke ended up having to wear one of Annamarie’s teeny t-shirts as an undershirt because he forgot his own but I don’t want to embarrass anyone…
The future Mr. & Mrs. T, enjoy your sneak peek!
Thanks for the fun!

Seattle area Wedding PhotographerI love a good wedding.
I mean, really, who doesn’t? I like pretty much everything about it; the hustle, the floral arrangements, the party atmosphere, the really good food, an elaborate wedding cake. All the little details are what make it good. However, my favorite part of a wedding is afterward. Usually quite a while afterward. Do you know what it is? Any guesses?
The wedding album design!
That is my favorite part. I get to create fairytales! Every story has a happy ending, a beautiful woman and a dashing man but (bonus!)no villain (that is unless a crazy ex shows up or something)! Every story is different so I’m always intrigued. Every bride gets a different, custom design. Brides can have as much, or as little, input as they want in their wedding fairytale album. Some brides don’t even know I have designed an album for them until I reveal it.
Like tonight! Surprise, Breanne & Chris!!

Sneak peek… {wedding} Matt & Nicola

Seattle area Wedding PhotographerI saw love Saturday.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding with a friend, Michael Hertzog, on Saturday. It was a refreshing experience being that Mike asked me to be his second shooter and I didn’t have to be the primary go-to photographer. Very relaxing and fun and I got to spend a lot more time than usual with the bridal party. The guys and gals in this wedding party were great sports and highly creative!
Anyway, back to the ‘love’ part. I saw love during Matt and Nicola’s wedding service at Quest Church in Seattle. It was AMAZING.
Honestly, most wedding ceremonies are a snooze. Generic, non-denominational, limited piped-in music, etc. But not this ceremony. It was highly personal and romantic. Their love story was shared. The bride and groom served communion to all of their guests. They had a band that was incredible. Obviously a lot of thought was put into their service. I have the feeling that their marriage will be the same.
Incredible.
Matt couldn’t stop looking at Nicola with big lovey eyes. Even for pictures. She had a hard time tearing away from him too. So cute.
Congratulations M&N! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

Edit debut… {wedding} Bree & Darrin
Posted on October 9, 2009
Every time I completely finish a full edited set for a client I do a little dance in my office.
With the doors closed. And the shades drawn. And my eyes closed because even I don’t want to see myself dance. But nonetheless I do bust a (short and without rythm) move. Why do you ask? The editing and enhancements I offer to my clients is the most labor intensive and time consuming part of my job. It is also the most rewarding. I don’t batch process my edits. I painstakingly open each and every file in Photoshop and tweak each one individually. That is why sometimes getting your enhanced images back can take a bit.
Take Bree and Darrin here… they were married at the very end of this last May. I believe they submitted their edit list sometime in late June or early July. I had a few brides before them in line for editing. I started their (incredibly, extrememly long) list of edits September 1st (you know, I DID have a baby July 17 so I had to take SOME time off) and just finished all of them last night after 11PM. All in all, about 6 weeks of work. And THAT, dear readers, is why I dance.
Now… debuting the edited images of Mr & Mrs. Darrin M. (congrats you two):

Cheers!

Redmond area Family PhotographerWEEK THREE INSTALLMENT
of Project 365: CYE Style
Welcome to week three!
I’m glad to be here as I fully expected to be unable to complete this week’s installment in anywhere near a reasonable timeframe. CYE debuted our fall Mini Session sale this week and we have received a great interest. We still have a few sessions available for those still wanting to book: info@cyephotography.com.
Also this week, CYE joined, and is participating in, two causes to help give back. The first is Images for a Cure. Click the link for more info. All session fees for shoots completed on October 11, 2009 will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Will you be a doer for cancer with us?
The other cause is Operation: Love ReUnited (OpLove) for deploying, deployed and returning military families. If you are a member or family member of the United States Military, and are interested in having very special and touching images with a patriotic edge taken of you and/or your family before a deployment or during, and at your reunion, please check out their site for more information. You will receive a substantial package as a gift in appreciation for all you have been through as a military member.
Now… onto this week’s photos!
I’m trying something a little different this week; a gallery-type slideshow instead of posting the photos one after the other. Let me know which way you would prefer to view the photos; gallery style or just post ‘em?
[svgallery name="365wk3"]
The first two photos seem to share a theme.
The first is Reiken plugging his ear while Quinn howls, and I do mean HOWLS, next to him. The second is little Miss Toby. She is the daughter of a friend of ours. The boys and I met up with a bunch of Creekside ladies at The Village Bean in Bothell. The Village Bean is a new kid-friendly coffeeshop with toys and activities for your children to master while you relax -FOR FREE! Anyway, Toby, her new sister Kasey and her gorgeous and fun mom Melissa showed up to the coffeeshop, along with every other mom with younger-than-school-age kids in what must have been a 15 mile radius of Country Village… It was quite the hullabaloo! In this image, I can just HEAR Toby asking for just ONE second of quiet and sanity. She is so stinkin’ cute.
The third photo is the newest member of the Bursch Clan;
Little Miss Lauren Elizabeth. She was born to Kirsten and Jason on 9/17/09 at 2:08AM weighing 8lbs, 5oz and measuring 19.5 inches long. This tiny elf angel was born via c-section as she was a breech baby. All are healthy and happy. Big sister Madison is in lahoooove.
The last photos are of varying scenes in my life last week.
Number 4 is a beautiful red plant that seemed to confirm that fall is on its way soon. The fifth is a beautiful photo taken at Ken and Chelsea’s wedding on Saturday. The sixth is taken from the congregation at my amazing church in Mountlake Terrace, Creekside. The dapper man featured is Pastor Don. He is an amazing teacher on Sunday mornings. The last photo is of my boys holding hands on the couch. Well, really it is of Reiken smashing Quinn’s hand trying to be sweet, but no one needs to know that, right?
As for week four…
Its all a surprise! Really, I can’t remember what I’ve shot so far this week. I know there will be a beach portrait session and a building dedication to Jesus. Other than that… we’ll find out soon enough. See you next week!
