Sneak peek… {new life} Jenny

Meet the mommy-to-be of the self-proclaimed cutest baby in the world! This sneak peek is for Jenny and Jay while they wait out the last few days before Miss Stella makes her debut. Based on what I saw in the decked out nursery, Stella can’t HELP but be the cutest baby on the block at the very least. Jenny, Jay, Jewel (sister pooch) and I had a great, warm session and I can’t WAIT to go back and meet sweet Stella. I’ve been out prop shopping just for her arrival!

Enjoy!

Sneak Peek… {new life} Monette

Renton area Maternity Photographer

I knew, just knew, this session was going to be good.

One of the last emails from the pre-session consult with this couple ended with them asking me what flavor coffee creamer I liked. Holy cow! They must have looked inside of my soul! Either that or I really do sound that hyped-up on caffeine on the phone… I was even MORE blown away when they packed up a maple bar (my favorite donut!) AND a napkin for me to enjoy on my ride home (just the donut, not the napkin). And I thought the 30 minute (sans kidlets) ride to and from their home was going to be the best part. Wrong!

Who were these amazing clients? Monette and Brett! We met at their home this morning for a new life maternity session. Their first child (notice how I didn’t say what the sex was?) is due in a short 4 weeks. Hopefully this little bebe will be making the big debut ON 3/31 or before because Monette made it very clear that an April Fool’s baby was not happening. I really think she might be stubborn enough to get her way too! ;)

Since Brett and Monette were so amazing and accomodating, I have a treat for them; An extra large sneak peek!! Instead of my usual 3-5 images, I am going to mix things up a bit and show off 7 images. Really, they were just that amazing that I couldn’t pick! Enjoy mami and papi!

How to… Remember what you forgot

Seattle Maternity Photographer

Pregnancy takes forever to be over and no time at all to forget.

Let me ask you…

Seattle Maternity Photographer

Because I can tell you from experience, twice, that I can’t remember what pregnancy was like. Not how it looked, or felt. If it was good or bad. All I have left are the stretch marks to prove it happened inside me at all. And Quinny was born only six months ago.

Between sleep deprivation, feeding (otherwise known as ‘assault on your body by wee bitty thing’), diaper changing, more laundry, doctors appointments and just general life upheaval after your bundle of joy arrives, any remembrance of pregnancy is quickly removed from your brain and replaced with mommy scatterbrained-ness. The only way I can remember how it was is to look back on my maternity photos.

Everett Maternity Photographer

A lot of women are unsure or skeptical of maternity photography. I know, I know… you feel like a cow, can’t get up off the couch and have come to realize the whole ‘pregnancy glow’ thing is a myth. You’ve seen the snapshots someone evilly took of you and can’t even imagine wanting to pay for more of those lovely tokens. Not to mention those stretch marks.

Newsflash! Professional maternity photography is NOT your average snapshot.

The perfect lighting, a flattering angle and divine clothing choices make a big difference. Editing will erase those stretch marks and ‘flaws’. You WILL have the perfect, creamy belly we all want. Again, we’re concentrating on the belly here. Not how big your tush has gotten or the fact that your ankles have disappeared. Because, let me tell you, I’ve BEEN there and KNOW that isn’t what you want to remember.

So, will you remember after you have forgotten? I can guarantee you will with a maternity session by CYE Photography. And the best part is… you will WANT to remember, not cringe when someone busts out the album with THOSE photos. In fact, you may have to restrain yourself from showing off your pics to each and every person who walks in the door.

Click ‘portrait info’ above for all the session details. Then, drop me an email (info@cyephotography.com) to chat about your session. We can set it up way ahead of time, or last minute. Consider combining your maternity session with a newborn session in our Belly to Baby package and remember. Even after you forget.

sneak peek… {mini} Veronica

Kirkland area Maternity Photographer

This past Sunday was an amazingly lucky day.

VeronicaPolaroidThe weather forecast said rain and gray skies. NOOooooooo! Crapola.

I was fearful that Veronica’s outdoor maternity mini session would have to be rescheduled! There are three types of photo shoots that are very time dependant and are difficult, if not impossible, to reschedule; weddings, newborns and maternity. For Veronica, there was no guarantee that she wouldn’t be going into labor in the next five minutes let alone the next 5 days!  However, due to the unpredictable-ness of the Pacific Northwest, we were blessed with blue skies, cold temps and wind… LOTS of wind!

Despite the wind whipping her hair into her face over and over, Veronica was a real sport and persevered for the sake of her maternity memories. She is expecting a baby girl, Vivienne in just two weeks time and her and the hubby are being quite patient in the final stretch! This is not the last you will see of Veronica and her family. We will be visiting them again to welcome baby Vivienne with a newborn session, CYE Style at the end of the month. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s start here, with a sneak peek of Veronica’s maternity mini session. Enjoy!

Candace’s maternity sneak peek

I am envious of petite, pregnant women. The bump looks terribly cute perched atop a five foot nothing  little whippet… A barrel strapped to my midsection doesn’t look nearly as appealing!

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Candace, and her little princess Maya, during week 36 of her pregnancy. She makes pregnancy look so good that I might just try it one more time or so. Well, after THIS time is over that is. (8/6/9… are you out there??)

A sneak peek just for the gestating:
